Reducing the number of accidents and improving safety conditions in the work environment for its employees is a major concern for the Hyspec management team. As part of its action plan to prevent accidents, Hyspec has implemented a Safety Motivational Scheme for Hazard Reporting and Action that rewards employees who have reported significant hazards in their work environment. Hazards fall into three categories. Category A, is a condition or practice likely to cause permanent disability, loss of life or limb, extensive loss of property damage or environmental damage. It must be corrected immediately, be isolated or barricaded. Category B, is a condition or practice likely to cause serious injury, or illness, resulting in temporary disability, property damage or environmental damage, but not intensive, which must be corrected within 24 hours. Category C, is a condition or practice likely to cause minor or non-disability injury, non-disruptive property damage or environmental damage, and it must be corrected within three weeks.
